CCTV checked after armed robber strikes Tesco Express store in Studley

Police are looking at CCTV following the knife threat attack which left staff badly shaken

CCTV footage is to be checked by police following an armed robbery at a Tesco Express in Studley.

A man walked into the store and threatened members of staff at knife point, leaving them badly shaken after their frightening ordeal.

The armed robbery took place on Wednesday, February 15, just before 7am.

The man went into the Tesco Express, which is on Alcester Road, in Studley and threatened a female member of staff with a knife. He fled the store with cash out of two tills.

The incident left the female member of staff very shaken but luckily was not physically injured by the man.

The man is now being sought by the police and has been described as being a white male, of medium build, who was wearing a grey jacket, light coloured trousers and a black beanie hat at the time of the robbery.

The suspect fled the store with a green carrier bag which had the stolen money in and ran off towards an alleyway close to the Tesco Express.

Local enquiries have been carried out by officers and CCTV footage is being studied, however, the police would like to hear from anyone who might have seen any suspicious activity in the area leading up to the robbery to get in touch.

Anyone with information that could lead the police to the armed robber, is urged to call Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting Incident Number 44 of February 15, 2017, or you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111, or via their website: www.crimestopppers-uk.org
